Here’s A Furniture For The Party People

We like partying during weekend. That is the time when we relax and catch up on friends. Now that my baby is too small, all weekend bashes are conducted at home. The first time when we arranged a weekend retreat, we wanted to make it theme based. There were several themes going around and we zeroed in on retro style. All friends were asked to dress up in retro style. Now what about furniture and décor. Not that I am going to change the furniture just for this theme party. For those of you who are planning to buy one and who prefer doing up their home in the retro way, there is the 50’s Retro Oak Round Dining Table

Made completely of oak, this table has slanted legs and a smooth and crisp satin lacquer finish. If you are the one who needs matching chair along with this table, that is also available. I will post the details of the chair tomorrow.

Add A French Twist To Your Décor

When it comes to home management, one of the most difficult tasks I face is keeping my home clutter free. My home will always be messy with toys, books, shoes and what not. It’s pretty tough managing two boys. On a more serious note, I need storage where I can dump things. That is when I figured out the Duck Egg Blue French Chest of Drawers.  Since it comes in duck egg blue color and distressed finish, I feel it goes well in my kid’s room. Its sea green bomb shape provides an altogether different look. Made from birch wood this furniture is available as a fully finished piece. Hence there is no need to crack the brain as to how to get it assembled. For those of you who need to de-clutter the room umpteen number of times, this shabby chic product is for you.

Wall Paper- The Latest Trend in Home Décor

Home Décor is an art. It involves mixing and matching of furniture and various other accessories to create the most stunning room. A very important aspect of home décor is wallpaper decoration. It involves pasting one or all the walls of a room with colored or patterned papers to enhance the look of the room.
Wall Papers have been in use as a décor item for a long time. The earlier trend in wall paper decoration was to decorate all walls of a room with the same wall paper. The patterns in these papers varied from simple flowers to geometric patterns.

However the latest trend is to decorate just one wall with wallpaper and paint rest of the walls in a matching color. If the room is small, it is better to use light colored wall papers with small prints to make the room look bigger. On the other hand, for bigger rooms one can go in for dark colored wall papers with bold prints.

The color of furniture also matters a lot while selecting wall paper. Here also the rule of contrast applies. For instance, one can hardly imagine dark wallpaper in a bedroom. But white beds against black wall paper can look stunning. Here the trick is in using beautiful wall décor to accentuate the dark look like photo frames, wall clock etc. Using matching white bedside tables can also bring in that special effect.

Whatever be the type and color of wallpaper, make sure that it goes well with the theme of the room and the general mood of the people using the room.

The perfect home office setting

When I decided to work from home the first thing I had in mind is how to set up a home office. I wanted a system that not only proves comfortable but also provides ample storage space. First I thought of installing a pedestal desk. Then I figured out that my office room does not have enough space to fit in a pedestal desk. That is when I came across the Mobel Oak Hidden Home Office.

This home office might look compact and small at the first place. But the pullout keyboard and desktop ensures that the person using has enough leg space and storage space. The open shelves in the centre can hold router and modem. There is a removable printer shelf on the right hand side which offers great flexibility.

Made completely of solid oak, this home office has a satin lacquer finish which makes it a great piece to own. If you are planning to set up a home office in the near future this furniture can be the best choice.

A relief in the middle of panic

Recently one of our friends Stardust-Décor & Style mentioned about a Panic Room in one of their post. This room was designed by the famous photographer and graphic designer THE BIG ADDICT.

The Panic Room

When I scrolled through the pictures, I felt like giving a dash of white somewhere in the room. A white curtain and a piece of white furniture can do the trick. I just browsed around and found that the shabby chic 2 drawer bedside table – white would be the best addition to the room. This piece of furniture can provide the much needed relief in the room. What do you folks have to say?
